NCLEX Format
The NCSBN along with the Pearson VUE offers the NCLEX test. Both NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN exams are offered by the NSCBN. The NCLEX CAT is nothing but computer adaptive testing format. The question appears on the screen as and when a question is answered. The consecutive question is based on the previous question’s performance. If the first answer is answered correctly, the next question asked will be of harder nature. And if the first question is answered wrong, the next question on the computer screen will be an easier one.
A graph is maintained and keeps moving along as the questions are answered. There is ample time given for each question to be answered. There is no specific time for each question. A total of 5 hours is given to complete the test. But it is advisable to finish off the one question in one minute. There is no much difference between the NCLEX-RN and the NCLEX-PN. Both have multiple-choice question asked. The table below shows us the major difference between the two tests.
