PMP SCORING
On completion of the exam, the candidates are given a printed copy of the results of the examination. Also the candidates can access the results through the PMI websites certification system about a week after the date of exam. The scores are reported using diagnostic score report which not only includes the fail or pass status, but also the breakdown on the basis of percentage of performance by the performance domain. Each domain is represented by a percentage score that is relative to that particular domain but not equal to other domains. Hand scoring is available until six months after the date of administration of the test with an additional fee of $45. However, PMI does not permit hand scoring for computer based tests.
The successful candidates will be included into the credentialed individuals registry and will be given the certificate package via post after 6 to 8 weeks of passing the exam. The package includes Official PMI Certificate, information about Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR), and PMP pin. This information should be filed safely for future references.
The passing score is determined by a particular approach called Modified Angoff Technique which is a certification industry standard practice, that relies on actual data and the judgement of groups of PMP credential holders around the globe.
For obtaining a pass score, the candidate should obtain a minimum of 106 marks out of the total 175 questions. On completion of the exam, the Promteric Center will receive the overall mark sheet immediately. There is no negative-marking and the unanswered questions are treated as wrong answers. PMP Certificate is sent to the candidate after two months of completion of the exam.
