PRAXIS Test Registration
The PRAXIS Pre-Professional Skills Tests are offered as both computer-based or paper-based tests.
Praxis Computer-Based Test Registration
The student can register at the Prometric test sites spread over 300 places throughout US by taking appointments or go in for online registrations. The test sites can be contacted from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm at 1-800-853-6773, 1-443-751-4859. For handicap candidates use the TTY facility at 1-800-529-3590 to schedule an appointment. Credit cards accepted for payment are American Express, Discover, Network, JCB, Visa or MasterCard credit card, or an authorization voucher. The authorization voucher can be received by sending a payment to the ETS with a completed CBT Authorization Voucher Request Form. Make a test appointment within 90 days of receiving the authorization voucher. This voucher is collected when taking the test. Walk-ins are also allowed based on the space available. The payment procedure for the walk-in students is also the same as prior registrants. On return of cheques or insufficients funds in credit cards, an additional fee of $20 is collected as processing fee.
The Computerized test can be taken only once per calendar month, and not more than 6 times within a 12-month period. This applies even if the scores are cancelled on a test taken previously. On violation of this rule, the retest scores will not be reported and also no refund will be given. The cheque amount is cleard on the same day.
Online registration is not available for the following:
- Praxis I computer-based testing
- Test takers with disabilities
- Sabbath/Monday testing
- Examinees whose primary language is not English
- Fee waivers
Praxis Paper-Based Test Registration
PRAXIS paper-based registrations can also be done online using credit cards from Monday to Friday, 7am to 10pm and at 7am Saturday to Sunday 8pm.
Online registration is not available for the following:
Praxis I computer-based testing
Test takers with disabilities
Sabbath/Monday testing
Examinees whose primary language is not English
Fee waivers
Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support (DANTES) test takers: If you register for a national test date, you may not register to take a test at a DANTES center immediately prior to or following that date. If you register for and take a test, only the first answer sheet received by ETS will be scored and your fees will not be refunded. To register by mail the student can check for the registration form in the Registration Bulletin. For individuals who have taken the test previously registration can be done by phone by calling 1-800-772-9476. An additional special service fee of $25 will be collected.
