PSAT Scoring
The PSAT test scores are sent the high school by early December itself. A explanation booklet accompanies the score sheet. The evaluation sheets for the verbal and the math section will be provided. The scoring is based on the range of 20- 80. To know the potential SAT I score just add a zero to the PSAT score. For example if your PSAT score is 35, your SAT I score will be 350. The total of the three scores is called the Selection Index. The selection Index ranges from 60 to 240 with an average of 147. The scores are also converted in to a percentage. If a junior takes the PSAT test he will receive junior percentiles. Similarly if a sophomore takes the test then he will receive sophomore percentile.
Every correct answer gets a point. Every wrong answer to the multiple choice questions get a negative marking of minus ¼ of the point. For unanswered questions there is no negative marking. And for incorrect answers that are derived from student produced responses there is no negative marking.
